- Alan Stern gives an update of status and plans of the New Horizons Mission to Pluto. Turns out it will be going thru the Trojan region near Neptune in 2014. The Trojan region is a pocket of ancient planetoids that we have only recently begun to discover. They have also doubled their data rates by using their redundant transmitters simultaneously. Exciting stuff.
- Discovery is being moved to the assembly building in Kennedy where it will be attached to the ET and SRBs. STS-121 has a launch window of July 1 - 19.
- MSFC is studying meteoroid impact on the Moon to see how safe moon bases will be.
- ESA researchers are at Concordia research station, located high on the Antarctic plateau for nine months to prepare for Mars missions as part of the Aurora program.
- The director of KSC is retiring.
- Harrison Schmitt and Jim Wetherbee will be at a free, open forum on human spaceflight on May 10. If you are in the area, go check it out.
- STS-121 appears to be on schedule for both shuttles.
